Double eyelid creases may be absent from birth due to lack of connection between muscle and skin. In ageing, double eyelid fold can also be hidden due to excessive over hanging skin (blepharochalasis). There are often fatty tissue in the eyelid skin or even eyebags causing bulging of the upper lids. These fatty tissue will be removed at the same time the double eyelid crease is created.
